We’re discussing malnutrition on 9th Sept #EWAWChat

Join us on Twitter on Wed 9th Sept as we discuss the issue of malnutrition in older people.

We want to hear your views and experiences on supporting older people in the community to eat well and helping to prevent malnutrition, specifically under-nutrition. Whether you’re a health professional, community worker or a volunteer we hope you can get involved.

The EWAW Twitter Chat will take place on Wed 9th Sept from 10.30am – 11am. All you need to do to get involved is simply to follow us @EatWellScot and/or the hashtag #EWAWChat.

We will tweet a question every 5 minutes and you can tweet your replies by starting them with A1., A2., etc. – don’t forget to use the hashtag #EWAWChat otherwise we won’t see your messages.

Here’s a preview to the 5 questions we’ll be asking if you want to prep your answers in advance:

Q1. If someone said ‘malnutrition’ to you, what do you think?

Q2. What are the most common misconceptions about malnutrition amongst older people?

Q3. What are some of the barriers you have come across in trying to address malnutrition in older people?

Q4. What advice are you aware of to help prevent malnutrition and support older people to eat well?

Q5. What changes need to take place at a national/ policy level to raise awareness and reduce the levels of malnutrition amongst older people in Scotland?

If you have any queries about joining in our Twitter Chat then please contact our Digital Communications Officer Danielle on daniellerg@eatwellagewell.org.uk

We look forward to you joining the conversation!
