Eat Well Age Well Launch Event

We had a fantastic response to the official Eat Well Age Well Launch event in Edinburgh on the 16th May.

Sixty delegates from a wide variety of organisations including NHS, Scottish Government, Third Sector, Local Councils, Housing Associations and Academia, came together to show their support and enthusiasm for the project, as we shared our aims, objectives and plans for the future.

One section of the event was dedicated to group discussions seeking our delegates’ views on changes needed in the community to help address malnutrition in older people. We very much appreciate everyone’s participation in this invaluable exercise which offered detailed insight into how Eat Well Age Well can help develop ideas for the prevention, detection and treatment of malnutrition.

We would like to thank Bill Gray, Organisational Lead for Community Food and Health (Scotland) for speaking at our event and a special mention goes to Wendy Willis, Professor of Food and Public Health at the University of Hertfordshire, for stepping in at short notice on the day to share her experience of working with older people and malnutrition.

The Eat Well Age Well Roadshow begins on 6th August in Stirling and will visit Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth, Dundee, Galashiels and Livingston, with further locations yet to be announced.

If you would like more information about the grants scheme, or advice on your application then drop in to your nearest venue where we’ll be more than happy to help.
