Malnutrition Awareness Week

We are delighted with the news that the first ever UK Malnutrition Awareness Week will be taking place 1-7th October 2018.

Together BAPEN and the Malnutrition Task Force will be addressing dangerous myths around malnutrition and raising awareness of it among the public and healthcare professionals.

Eat Well Age Well will be supporting our UK partners and will capitalise on this campaign to raise awareness of our own Scottish project and Scottish based information and news. On Monday 1st Oct we will be hosting our ‘Eat Well Age Well’ social event for older people in Glasgow at Finn’s Place, where guests will be treated to lunch, a taster session on Tai Chi and have the chance to play to a brand-new board game all about food and wellbeing: the Food in Later Life game.

Our Small Ideas, Big Impact fund will also officially open for submissions on 1st Oct, so make sure to get your application in.

Another key focus of our campaign will be highlighting the importance of screening, therefore throughout the week we’ll be sharing lots of resources and advice on ways in which to help prevent, detect and treat malnutrition, so make sure to follow us on social media to keep up to date with all our activities. Follow us on Twitter @EatWellScot and don’t forget to give us a like on Facebook and Instagram too.

If you’d like to get involved, then why not send us a selfie with your pledge on how you’ll help older people to eat well, age well and live well – just like our Project Dietitian, Sally.
