Tackling malnutrition in older people living at home in Scotland

About the Small Ideas, Big Impact Fund

The Small Ideas, Big Impact fund has been set up to encourage people across Scotland to create and develop ideas around the theme of older people living well via food.

Funds between £50 to £5000 were available to test out or extend initiatives which help prevent, detect and/or treat malnutrition.

The fund has been specifically designed for individuals, community groups, social enterprises, charities and public-sector workers to submit their ideas.

In total we have funded 47 projects across Scotland with over £160,000 of grants issued to help support older people to eat well and age well.

We opened Round 1 in October 2018 with 23 projects funded - for more information please click here.

Round 2 of the Small Ideas, Big Impact Fund opened in May 2019 with 24 projects funded. For more information please click here.

We are proud to support a wide variety of fantastic initiatives including the set-up of new lunch clubs, cookery classes, information roadshows and intergenerational projects.
