This is the second year of UK Malnutrition Awareness Week and we hope you’ll join our campaign to encourage us all to have more conversations with the older people in our lives about food, eating & drinking and appetite.
1 in 10 older people are at risk or suffering from malnutrition and as a country we can do better than this. This is not just a number. It is family. It is friends. Malnutrition can have a devastating effect on an individual’s health, well-being and quality of life. All older people should be able to eat well & access the food they want and need.
Better communication and conversations are key to discovering issues and barriers to eating well – and allows us as friends, family, neighbours, carers, workers or volunteers to help support them.
